Another network-filtering service can conflict with Koodos website protection.

VPN apps

Phones and tablets usually allow only one personal VPN to control traffic at a time. Turning on a work, school, privacy, antivirus, or ad-blocking VPN may disconnect the Koodos VPN.

If Koodos shows Protection is off, turn off the competing VPN and reconnect Koodos. If the other VPN is required by a school or employer, both services may not be usable at the same time.

Private DNS and Secure DNS

Private DNS on Android, or Secure DNS inside a browser, can send website lookups around the device's normal filtering path. If a blocked site still opens, temporarily return those settings to Automatic or Off and test again.

Windows proxies and filters

Corporate proxies, security products, and other web filters can also interfere with Koodos. Make sure *.koodos.app is allowed so the device can check in.

App blocking may continue even when website filtering is affected, because they use different device controls.
