Unpair Koodos before uninstalling it. This cleanly turns off blocking, stops the local VPN and background protection, and releases uninstall protection.
Have the parent PIN ready
You need the 4-digit parent PIN to open the protected device settings. If you have forgotten it, reset the parent PIN in the Parent App while the Android device is online, then allow a moment for the new PIN to sync.
Step 1 — Open the parent settings
On the child's Android phone or tablet:
- Open Koodos.
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings.
- Enter the parent PIN.
Do not share the PIN with your child.
Step 2 — Unpair the device
Scroll to the Device section and tap Unpair Device. Confirm Unpair, then keep Koodos open until Unpairing… disappears.
This clears Koodos restrictions, stops its VPN and background services, and releases Device Admin and app-deletion protection when they are active.
Step 3 — Uninstall Koodos
Open Android Settings → Apps → Koodos, then tap Uninstall and confirm. The exact wording can vary by phone maker.
If the Uninstall button is unavailable, reopen Koodos Settings with the parent PIN and turn on Allow App Deletion. Then return to Android Settings and try again.
After uninstalling
Refresh the Parent App and confirm the old device is no longer listed. The child's profile and history remain available for their other devices.
